Suze Riley - Room 309/310
Suze Riley’s papercut collages explore themes of faded nostalgia. She has always been drawn to old signage, dated buildings and interiors, and the people, history and stories connected to those spaces. Minimal yet detailed, her art reflects fragile beauty and disappearing memories from the British seaside, American road trips, cafes, holiday resorts and amusement parks. She also creates art installations and works as a live portrait artist at events, with recent clients including Notion, The Ferry Building and Altitude Summit.
In Room 309, Suze presents her installation, The Lost Motel Room, where she invites visitors to imagine it's 1973, and Jane has just left her motel room in a hurry. What story has she left behind? What has she ~ and what have women ~ lost since?
In Room 310, Suze presents Road Trip, alongside Samuel Ryde. Here you'll find her cut paper collage artworks and prints, celebrating the nostalgia of signage.
