Sue Bradford - Room 225
Sue Bradford is a multi-disciplinary artist working in printmaking, mixed-media, textiles, and painting in Napa, California. Her printmaking work in the Above & Below Series has developed over many years. Beginning with a fascination for manmade materials used to construct and farm the world around us and how they decompose and are reclaimed by the earth. She began photographing these materials and printing with the imagery. This practice developed into multi-layered prints exploring the interconnected relationship of these elements and the impressions of landscapes that they create.
She has a bachelor’s degree in architecture and design from Cal Poly Pomona and has studied printmaking at Napa Valley College, Kala Art Institute and with master printer, Dan Welden. Her work has been awarded a Curators Award from the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, CA, a Jurors Award from Southampton Arts Center in Southampton, NY and People’s Choice Award from Gallery 110, in Seattle, WA. Sue has been selected for Printmaking Artist Residencies at Mendocino Center for the Arts, In Cahoots and the Kala Art Institute, with grants from Arts Council Napa Valley. Sue has shown her work throughout California and the western states. She has been included in exhibitions at the Napa Valley Museum, Berkeley Art Center, and Crocker Museum. Her work is in the collections of the di Rosa Preserve, the Crocker Museum, UCSF Medical Center-Mission Bay, Far Niente Winery and in private and corporate collections.
