“Art For The End Times”
My body of work reflects the increasing feelings of anxiety and isolation in the modern world. I hope to capture both a feeling of unease and a strange beauty.
I use acrylic paint to explore inner worlds of thoughts and emotions. Bold and unnatural colors conjure the ethereal word of dreams and the unconscious mind. I juxtapose abstract and figurative elements, as well as human and natural elements, to explore human fears and the fragility of the modern human condition.
My imagery raises questions about modern priorities and the focus on work and the world of business over more ethereal and spiritual pursuits. One interpretation could also be that the paintings reflect the dreams of the deceased figure, or his union with a collective unconscious.
