Jane Grimm
The content of my work has become minimalist in both form and color. Whether the sculptures are three dimensional or wall installed, the play of light and shadow on the sculptures have become important elements, thus the predominant use of white. Forms seen in nature, particularly those I observe in the garden and the sea, are my sources of inspiration. My ceramic sculptures are hand built primarily using a slab roller with which I create the initial form. I then alter or make additions to those forms. I predominantly use low fire clay, under glazes and glazes.
