Pantea Karimi is a printmaker and painter and also holds a professional degree with work experience in graphic design. Her work as a multidisciplinary artist explores the intersection of art, history, and science. She researches illustrations and content of medieval and early modern scientific manuscripts. Utilizing conceptual and visual interpretations from her research, she creates individual bodies of artwork using interactive installations, VR, silkscreen, and digital prints. Her current focus is on the areas of medicinal botany, and astronomy. Her botanical series is inspired by a prominent 12th-century manuscript from Andalusia.
