Painting defines who I am. It is my passion and my sanctuary. I see painting as preservation of moments in time and people captured in their natural moments.
My work is a way for me to express myself while relating to the subjects of my paintings. You see these subjects through my eyes and paintbrush. A photograph of a woman captures the static moment, a painted version of the same removes everything that is not important and gives the viewer special feelings of harmony. A painting captures everything that is important for an artist, unlike any photograph can. This is why, despite being an avid photographer, my true passion is painting — I can bring to life with oil paint, and hours and hours of transforming a blank canvas into a lasting expression.
Since 2014, I painted portraits of women. In my paintings, women are the main subject, but not the main idea. They are source of my inspiration. Every portrait means something, and, is a reflection of my inner world.
Moving to US in 2014 added another dimension to my art. More recently I focused on paintings of Women of Universe; Women in meditation. They are calm, natural, thoughtful, in love — in harmony with themselves. There is not much color in these paintings because color is not important. In these paintings, I am showing harmony of their inner world — simple emotions, clarity of mind, freedom to be yourself at a given moment, to enjoy who you are without the burden of being judged.
