Heidi Cody
I am an artist and climate activist. My work is a cultural critique of American consumerism, using humor and abstraction. I alter brands and force viewers to look twice, and think several times more. Some of my work is macho, some of it is funny and some of it even lights up. My work ranges from graphic paintings, to sculptures, to signs and video.
I was raised in Paris France until I was 8. My dad would not get a color t.v. when we moved back to the U.S. He told me it would distort my sense of reality. I blame him for all my creative work.
